Like diagnostic casts, photos are very important in dental treatments. Extra-oral photos may include full frontal face and full right and left side of the face.  Intra-oral photos may include complete upper teeth and lower teeth bite.  

The following are some of the uses of dental photo profile:

• The dentists can assess facial symmetry
• The malocclusion(improper bite) can be clearly visualized by the patient
• The patient  can appreciate significant changes.(before and after photo)
