WHAT’S A MOUTH GUARD

Are you into sports?  Like boxing, basketball, karate or actively participating in any recreational activities?  Mouth Guards sometimes called mouth protectors help you avoid or at least minimize injury or risk of broken teeth, injury to your lips or cheeks in case of accidental bumps on the face happens. Mouth Guards may be custom fitted by your dentist or you can buy preformed mouth guards in sports stores or pharmacies.

BRUXISM

Bruxism or teeth grinding is usually performed subconsciously during sleep.  This is commonly caused by anxiety. There is a need for this to be treated because it can cause facial pain, headaches and the outer covering of the teeth, called enamel, can be permanently damaged. When the enamel of the teeth is damaged, sensitivity follows.  If not treated at an early stage, this might cause more dental problems. More dental problems mean more dental expenses which could have been avoided.
